How to get listed

How to get a company or organisation listed?

You may be in luck and your company or orgnisation is already listed. If you have a Private Enterprise Number (PEN) you can use that:

If your company or organisation has Wikipedia page there is likely an entry for it as well:

You can also try our full search:

If you cannot find your organisation you are most likely not listed. In order to be listed you need to open an account with us.

How to get a product listed?

If your product has a GTIN (EAN, ISBN, JAN, UPC, ...) you can use that directly:

If your product does not have a GTIN but a Wikipedia page you can try to look that up:

If your product is not listed you can add it under your account.

How to add to my app

Do I need to add all my data to your database?

No, that is not necessary. You can choose not to add any data to our database. However then no metadata about your subjects will be available via our side.

If you use one of the standard types for identifiers, you don't need to do anything at all. If you choose to add your own identifier types those types should be registered with us.

How can I extract identifiers?

See API on this.

What identifier types are available with you?

You can use any identifier type that itself is known by a UUID. However, the following types are well known and a good choice in their respected domains:

  • Universally Unique Identifier (UUID)
  • Object identifier (OID)
  • Uniform Resource Identifier (URI; Semantic web)
  • Global Trade Item Number (GTIN; also known as EAN, ISBN, JAN, UPC, and others)
  • Wikidata identifiers (QID)
  • Digital object identifier (DOI)
  • Iconclass identifier
